Quantum Biofeedback

What Is Biofeedback?

Biofeedback Beginnings

Biofeedback is a non-invasive therapeutic technology that energetically scans and harmonizes the body’s stresses and imbalances, and returns your body to health by reducing the stressors that cause disease. Biofeedback is considered a treatment technique in which people are trained to improve their health by using signals from their own bodies. Physical therapists, for example, use biofeedback to help stroke victims regain movement in paralyzed muscles. Psychologists use it to help tense and anxious clients learn to relax. Specialists in many fields use biofeedback to help their clients or clients cope with pain.

Chances are you have used biofeedback yourself. If you have ever taken your temperature or stepped on a bathroom scale, you have received “biofeedback” information. The thermometer tells you if your body temperature is normal or not, and the scale tells you if you have lost or gained body (bio) weight. With this information, you can take the necessary steps to correct this condition.

Clinicians rely on more complicated biofeedback devices in somewhat the same way in order to detect a person's internal bodily functions with far greater sensitivity and precision. For clients, the EPFX Biofeedback system acts as a kind of “sixth sense” to allow them to "see" or "hear" activity inside their bodies.

Biofeedback Beginnings

The word biofeedback was coined decades ago to describe laboratory procedures being used to train experimental research subjects to alter brain activity, blood pressure, heart rate, and other bodily functions that normally are not controlled voluntarily. This early research demonstrated that biofeedback can help in the treatment of many diseases and painful conditions. Some believe that biofeedback will one day make it possible to do away with drug treatments that often cause uncomfortable side effects in clients with high blood pressure and serious conditions.

Biofeedback Today

Clinical biofeedback techniques that grew out of the early laboratory procedures are now widely used to treat an ever-growing list of conditions: migraine and other headaches, digestive system disorders, high and low blood pressure, cardiac arrhythmias, circulatory issues, epilepsy, paralysis/movement disorders, and many other maladies.

Specialists who provide a variety of forms of Biofeedback range from psychologists, medical doctors, dentists, chiropractors, internists, nurses, physical therapists, naturopaths, and veterinarians to energy medicine practitioners, Certified Biofeedback Specialists (CBS), and many others.

What Is Quantum Biofeedback?

Quantum Biofeedback, using the EPFX system, working through 16 different electrical factors of the body, calculates combinations of impedance, amperage, voltage, capacitance, inductance, and resistance for Electro-Physiological Reactivity (The Xrroid Process). The body is indeed electric; therefore reactivity in the body can be measured electrically. E-P Reactivity results are based upon the ability to establish a Tri-vector connection for an energetic three-dimensional view of the client's current reactions to over 10,000 different items, all accomplished completely independent of user influence to help avoid bias or error. The picture painted by the reactions may help to create a better understanding of the individual factors pertinent to lifestyle and wellness. Once established, the quantum biofeedback auto-focus program, designed to monitor a client's reactions, helps optimize the quality and quantity of the stress reduction results.

The techniques and methods of Quantum Biofeedback stress reduction include addressing those areas most typically affected by the stressors of “every-day living.” Some examples of these methods and areas are the Tri-vector, Auto-Meridian, Homeopathy, Auto-Frequency, Auto-Color, Auto-Spinal, Chakra, and EEG.

What Is “Stress” and What Are “Stressors”?

Stress Management

The National Institute of Health says that 80% of all medical conditions are caused by “Stress.” Stress to the body can result from a number of factors, “stressors”, including but not limited to: allergens, bacteria and viruses, chemicals, dehydration, emotional issues, employment, exercise, foods, financial problems, fungi and fungal infections, headaches and migraines, heavy metals, heredity, irradiation of foods, lack of sleep, low self-concept, medical conditions, diseases or disorders, microwave radiation, nutritional deficiencies, overwork, pain, parasites, prescription drugs, psychological conditions, diseases or disorders, relationship issues, toxins, and many others.

Stress is not necessarily negative. Some stress keeps us motivated and alert, while too little stress can create problems. However, too much stress can trigger problems with mental and physical health, particularly over a prolonged period of time. Excess stress is the pathway to disease.

Most people who lead busy lives already know the answer to ‘What is Stress’, but for the rest of you - here are a few definitions:

  1. Stress is defined as a nonspecific response of the body to any demand made upon it which results in symptoms such as rise in blood pressure, release of hormones, quickness of breath, tightening of muscles, perspiration, and increased cardiac activity.
  2. Any experience that taxes an individual's energy or well-being; stress may be physical, mental, or emotional.
  3. Tension (Psychology): a state of mental or emotional strain or suspense; “he suffered from fatigue and emotional tension;” “stress is a vasoconstrictor.”
  4. Physics: Force that produces strain on a physical body; "the intensity of stress is expressed in units of force divided by units of area."
  5. Mental or physical tension that results from physical, emotional, or chemical causes.

What Is “Stress Management” and What May Be Considered “Stress Relief”?

Stress Management

Anything that relieves mundane stress on a daily basis, such as relaxation, can help. When we discuss stress in relation to health wellness, Hans Selye, a Hungarian medical scientist, was the first to use the word “stress” in that context. His theory is that when the body reacts to stress, it creates an "alarm" response, which is what should happen. That means that your body is in good shape to react accordingly to any given stressor, hopefully appropriately and effectively in ways that relieve it.

If the stress continues, however, an “adaptation” state may result, where we learn to accommodate or bear the symptoms of stress by adjusting to them. This can, more positively, mean creating an increase in our tolerance to frustration and moving back into the alarm state, which relieves the stress, or, negatively, reacting with an accommodating adjustment that (temporarily) alleviates the pain of the stress but becomes a new holding pattern.

A physical example of this would be continually keeping your head tilted to one side because it relieves the pain in your neck, but does not remove or alleviate the source of the stress.

If the stress continues even longer, an “exhaustion” state is created that may lead to a weakened system. For example, if you keep your head tilted at a relieving angle to your neck for a few months or for years, the adaptation may cause other stresses.

This alarm/adaptation/exhaustion model fits all forms of stress, whether physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual.

Obviously, reducing stress is key to well-being. Relaxation helps, but how do we know where stress may be hiding in the adapted or exhausted states physically, mentally, emotionally, or even spiritually?

With the help of Quantum Biofeedback, we can painlessly and non-invasively look at reactions to common stressors and begin to piece the picture together.

Two types of EPFX Biofeedback Sessions

There are two types of EPFX Biofeedback sessions: an in-office personal session and a remote personal session. When a client meets individually with our Certified Biofeedback Specialist (CBS), the practitioner will spend time speaking to the client about the stressors they are dealing with and what they would like assistance with in stress and pain management.

During an in-office session the practitioner works with the client to be relaxed and comfortable. Then the practitioner will place EPFX ‘monitors’ onto the client via a head strap, and wrist and ankle bands. This work can be done with or without the monitors, whatever makes the client the most comfortable. The EPFX system then measures the subtle electrical factors of the body. From these calculations a number of pieces of information are collected. The EPFX system detects energetic aberrations and provides information to the practitioner about the client’s individual stressors to assist in the stress reduction and stress management work. The practitioner, client and the technology all work together to work to balance the body electric and reduce the client’s stressors.

The same process happens when a client has an individual remote session, except the client is not physically connected to the EPFX system. The practitioner enters the client’s information into the system and contacts the client via the telephone. The system “connects” to the client at a quantum energetic frequency level and the biofeedback work proceeds as if the client and practitioner and the system were in the same room.

How Might I Feel?

Most people find the biofeedback experience relaxing, soothing and beneficial. Clients have told us that they have reduced anxiety, a long-missing sense of peace, or more energy. Every individual is different so how each client feels can be very different. Some of the ‘side effects’ of biofeedback may include these possibilities (and many more that may be experienced):

The program creates awareness, and, along with the assistance of our practitioners, a sense of personal responsibility in creating positive change. No medical diagnoses are made, as we are only concerned with assessment of energetic reactions to possible stress factors and hololinguistics.

What else do I need to know to get started with my EPFX Biofeedback Session?

To accelerate all sessions it is suggested that you fill out the Consent Form at least two days prior to your appointment time. This allows us to move into the session quickly and take full advantage of the 60-to 90-minute session time. In addition, it is helpful to organize your thoughts about your issues and desired results. Examples of this would be “I have lots of pain in by back and it hurts most when I am dealing with customers at work” or “I feel like I can not deal with all of the family issues and it makes me feel anxious and angry.” Or “I am just tired all of the time” or “I am so excited about this new opportunity and want to do what I want to be happy.”

No medical diagnoses are made during a session. We are only concerned with assessment of energetic reactions to possible stress factors. Medical diagnoses should be sought through a licensed M.D. (for more information on the difference between “wellness” and “disease,” please see the FAQ page.) Although the EPFX is FDA registered as a biofeedback device, has been thoroughly tested as gentle and safe, and has gained acceptance in most countries, some sub-programs within the program are deemed experimental. For extra precautions, it is not recommended for use by persons with a history of electrical shock, epilepsy, pregnant women, or persons with pacemakers.

For a bit more information about what this may mean for you, please see the Testimonials page for specific personal experiences from some of our clients.
